Steps to Your New Home: From Application to Occupation
Begin your journey with a FREE bond pre-approval by BetterBond’s. For details, visit our Financing Available page.
Choose and customize your building package from our range of developments to suit your housing needs.
Betterbond will submit your building loan application to all major banks to find you the best deal.
Once the loan is granted and accepted, MER.C.KOR will initiate the next steps.
Sign the Bond and Transfer documents with the Attorneys and MER.C.KOR building documentation with a MER.C.KOR representative.
Work with our team to review and adjust your draft plan. The finalized plan will then be prepared for submission.
Plans are submitted to the NHBRC, Structural Engineer, City Council, and the financial institution for all necessary approvals.
The Conveyancer will lodge the bond for registration and transfer the land into your name at the Deeds Office.
Await plan approval and the issuance of the NHBRC Enrolment Certificate as well as the installation of your water meter by the Council.
With plan approval in place, NHBRC Enrolment Certificate received, and the water meter installed, construction will commence on your property.
Receive updates on construction progress, including timelines, photographs, and site inspections.
As construction nears completion, schedule a final inspection with a MER.C.KOR representative.
Conduct a final walkthrough to ensure all details are as expected and finalize required documentation.
The Bank’s valuator performs a final inspection. If all is approved, the Bank releases final payment.
Upon final payment, you’ll be notified that your new home is ready for handover.
Collect your keys, receive copies of the Occupation Certificate, Electrical Certificate, and Approved Building Plan, and enjoy your new home!
